Futile Diplomacy to Resolve The Syria Conflict

16th February 2016 / Global, United States

Russia’s forthright diplomatic efforts continue tirelessly, committed to resolve the Syria conflict responsibly – a futile effort without a serious US peace partner.

Washington wants war, not peace. At the Munich Security Conference, John Kerry admitted as much, saying conflict won’t end as long as Assad remains in power – leaving no doubt where America stands, its imperial arrogance holding humanity hostage to its ruthless agenda.

Kerry and Sergey Lavrov met for more discussions, painful for the Russian diplomat, knowing they’re futile, doing his job responsibly nonetheless – fully committed for peace Washington rejects.

Don’t let duplicitous Kerry rhetoric fool you. He’s a notorious serial liar – like Obama saying one thing, pursuing another.

According to State Department spokesman Admiral John Kirby, both diplomats discussed “developing modalities for a cessation of hostilities in Syria,” along with providing humanitarian aid.

Hopes for suspending hostilities and making progress toward peace remain pure fantasy. As long as Washington and its allies keep supporting ISIS and other terrorist groups, endless war will continue – millions of defenseless Syrian civilians victimized by America’s ruthless agenda.

Turkey and others are mobilizing ground forces, poised for invading Syrian territory if ordered, along with Ankara shelling its territory on Saturday upped the stakes dangerously.

Endless war continues. Virtually no chance to cease hostilities or work responsibly for conflict resolution exists.

Pretending otherwise elevates hopes unrealistically. Washington and Russia have intractable dueling agendas.

Putin insists Syrians alone must decide who’ll lead them, free from foreign interference. Obama wants Assad replaced with a US-controlled puppet, denying them their international law guaranteed rights.

US policy is uncompromising, risking another world war, catastrophic if launched with today’s super-weapons.

Challenging America responsibly is the only chance to avoid potential disaster. We have a choice. End the madness of US imperial wars or they’ll end us.

Perhaps less time remains to act than most people imagine.
