Four UK car facts

• There are 33mn cars in the UK.
• England alone has 12 cars for every 10 households
• There were 949,720 new cars registered in first half of 2023 – up 18.4% year on year – as supply chain shortages ease.
• Electric vehicles (EVs) are now being defleeted as they are taking more than twice as long to sell as internal combustion engine models, new research from Epyx suggests.
